Project Title: \ The Legacy Skills Pathway Initiative: Skilled Hands, Strong Future
Organization: \ Legacy Endeavors Inc.\ Oakland, California.
Executive Summary
Legacy Endeavors Inc. A 501(c)3 public charity, seeks \$50,000 to support The Legacy Skills Pathway Initiative: Skilled Hands, Strong Future, a vocational training program that equips underserved young adults (ages 18–25) that reside in the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Area, with practical trade skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general home repair. Over an 18-month training period, we aim to serve 10 individuals, preparing them for immediate employment or entrepreneurship. This initiative reduces barriers to sustainable income, builds self-sufficiency, and offers alternatives to crime and poverty. Funds will support student stipends, instructor pay, tools and equipment, and administrative operations. All donations are tax deductible.
Statement of Need
Youth in underserved Bay Area communities face systemic barriers to employment, education, and opportunity. Many lack access to career training or mentorship, leading to economic instability and an increased likelihood of engaging in at-risk behavior. The trades—plumbing, carpentry, electrical work—offer sustainable, in-demand careers that are often inaccessible to those without connections or formal instruction. Our program bridges that gap with hands-on training that creates real-world job readiness and long-term opportunity.
